defying gravity

as if on its own journey, the heart pounds anonymously,
which the mind will never comprehend.

...desert heat intensifies in the day,
then departs in the eve for his mistress.
the night grows colder as each star claims its spot...

mercury drops...

the faintest breeze caresses my soul as i freely fall.
i helplessly sink, head first, in the open air
as if an eighty-pound block is chained around my neck
dragging me down faster, closer to the ocean floor
causing every ounce of oxygen-- of life to be drained.

pendulum stops...

i lose consciousness
but gain freedom from wishful thinking
and give fantasy a license to reality.
